Adrift Da Belle (Driftee) is a Jersey bred, Atlanta based Hip Hop artist and enthusiast. Her music embodies the evolution of the B Girl as she delivers gritty, realistic word play from an urban woman’s perspective.

Adriftʼs Hip Hop dreams were dormant until college when she was asked to freestyle for a well known campus deejay. The freestyle was popular and created so much buzz that she immediately knew what needed to be done. With one goal in mind, Adrift left school and returned home to New Jersey to fully pursue her dream of becoming a legendary hip hop artist. Within a year, Adrift recorded her first demo, Ê»Grown Lady Anticsʼ and enjoyed local success that garnered the attention of hip hop fans along the East Coast. She was an instant “hood” celebrity with her music being played at local bars and establishments. Not to mention, heavy rotation also afforded Adrift several opportunities to showcase her talent at block parties and shows throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia and Baltimore, Maryland.

By 2005, Adrift was ready to expand her audience and decided to migrate from her beloved Jersey to the music capital of the South, Atlanta GA. Since her arrival, this ATL transplant has been busy performing and making solid connections within the Atlanta music scene. It didnʼt take long before Adrift became a mainstay at the popular Apache Cafeʼs Free Forum Exchange (know for launching the careers of many indie artist). She released her first LP, Da Threat, in 2006. Her popularity was wildly viral and caught the attention of Atlanta based hip hop production company, Organized Noize. Known for their production credits with hip hop sensations such as Outkast and Ludacris, Adrift was hand picked by Organized Noizeʼs Ray Murray to be the only female member of the legendary Dungeon Familyʼs second generation collective, Dungeoneze. She has rocked the mic with countless artists such as opening for hip hop legends KRS One at The Loft, Rakim at The East Atlanta Icehouse and performances with the Dungeon Family at Drunken Unicorn, as well as headlining at The Apache Café and many more.

Adrift continually challenges herself and in 2009, broadened her artistic abilities to include acting. She landed a supporting role in the indie film, Pathways [Seanʼs Lament] and by 2010, under Ray Murrayʼs tutelage expanded her credits as a songwriter and composer. Adrift wrote and arranged two R&B songs, “Higher” and “Better” on her acclaimed sophomore LP, Ê»Garden State Parkway.ʼ “Dun-Ez” ( also from Garden State Parkway, LP)  was featured on the score and soundtrack of the MTV Original Movie: “My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen”.

In 2011, Adrift was asked to be a guest on MTV.com’s Rapfix “Get in the Game” segment where she discussed branding strategies for up and coming artist with Waka Flocka and Sway. The summer of 2011 found Adrift on the national Summer of Sum tour as the only female feature (w/ Digit Man, Big Rec & Big Kuntry King). She was also deemed by Creative Loafing Atlanta as being a “round-the-way realist with a grimey flow”   in their 2011 Music issue.

Adrift released her latest project DNA (D.R.U.G.S. n Adrift ~ A Tribute to East Coast Hip Hop) in September of 2011. DNA features production exclusively by D.R.U.G.S. DNA the EP is available on Bandcamp. The video for the lead single, More, is on You Tube.
