Public
Enemy "s Flavor Flav is reportedly preparing to release his very own memoir next
spring, becoming the latest of rappers to tell their life stories on paper.
The book will reportedly focus on nearly three decades of history in the entertainment
industry.
Looks like Public Enemy hype man Flavor Flav will be the next hip-hopper to
hit bookshelves. According to a listing on Amazon, Flav will be dropping his
memoir, simply titled Icon, on March 1, 2011, through Farrah Gray Publishing,
Inc. The book will find the Long Island rep reflecting on his 25 years in P.E.,
his career as a reality show star and his much-publicized struggle with drugs.

Over the past few years, Flav has re-emerged into the spotlight via television
and music projects.
Although known in the last decade for his role in VH1 "s "Celebreality"
shows such as Flavor of Love and The Surreal Life, the 51-year-old is known
for his hype-man and rapping role in Public Enemy. In 2006, Flav released his
solo debut, also called Flavor of Love. (Hip Hop DX)
Despite his fame, Flav "s tax problems became public knowledge via the Internet
last year.
Flav, 50, real name William Drayton, is a member of legendary rap group Public
Enemy, and lately has starred in several seasons of VH1 "s reality show "Flavor
of Love." The state of California filed an $183,810 lien against Drayton
on Sept. 17 in Sacramento County Court. Flavor Flav could not be reached for
comment. His manager said he forwarded an e-mail message to the rapper. (Detroit
