Legendary Bronx rapper Tim Dog has passed away

Hip Hop mourns its first loss of 2013, with the death of BX veteran rapper Timothy "Tim Dog" Blair today from a seizure following a long bout with diabetes. He was 46 years old.

Tim Dog released his infamous "F-ck Compton" single on Ruffhouse Records in 1991, which remains one of the hardest diss tracks ever recorded. The single was featured on his debut album, "Pencillin " On Wax", which featured production from Ced Gee from Ultramagnetic MC "s, as well as TR Love and Moe Love. The legendary Kool Keith of Ultramagnetic MC "s also appeared on two of the albums tracks. Tim Dog and Kool Keith would later reconnect and form the group Ultra, releasing their only album "Big Time" in 1996.

Tim Dog followed up "Pencilin " On Wax" with "Do Or Die" in 1993, also released on Ruffhouse Records, which contained collaborations with fellow Bronx emcee KRS-One and Smooth B from Nice & Smooth. The year 2000 saw the release of his third solo project "The Return" and he followed that up with "BX Warrior" in 2006.

Our thoughts go out during this difficult time to the family and friends of Tim Dog - forever celebrated.
