Johnny
Blaze and the "Superbad" funnyman set to co-star together in "The
Sitter."
Over the last decade Method Man has been one of the biggest success stories
in terms of rappers crossing over to acting. He’s appeared in cult comedies
(How High), indie smashes (Garden State), and one of the most critically acclaimed
television series of all time (The Wire). Next up for the Staten Island emcee
is a project with one of the biggest names in comedy, Jonah Hill.
The Sitter tells the story of a babysitter, played by Hill, making a cross
town drug run with his underage charges in tow. The movie, which will be directed
by Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green, will also feature the talents
of Sam Rockwell and J.B. Smoove. Meth’s character’s name is Jacoby
but little is known beyond that but judging from the pedigree of the cast and
crew and some of the films they’ve been involved with chances are good
that this’ll be very good, stoner friendly comedy.
The Sitter is currently in pre-production. Twentieth Century Fox has a tentative
release date scheduled for July 15, 2011.
