A Tribe Called Quest members to appear on Q-Tips solo album

Q-Tip has revealed that he will reunite with members of A Tribe Called Quest on his new solo album.

Having got back together for a series of summer gigs, including a date at London "s Wireless Festival, A Tribe Called Quest are ready to get back into the studio together and will start off by working on Q-Tip "s forthcoming solo album. The rapper is signed to Kanye West "s GOOD Music label and told Rolling Stone that he expects Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White to appear on the album.

"I "ll probably get them on my album," Q-Tip told the magazine from New York, where he "s recording the LP which is titled "The Last Zulu ". Due for release in Spring 2014, the album would be the first to feature the four original members of the hip-hop group since the "People Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm " album was released in 1990.

Speaking about the group "s forthcoming live shows, Q-Tip explained: "We love performing. There "s a lot of places around the world that we "ve yet to hit, believe it or not. We "re probably gonna just concentrate on the rest of the world. We "ve kind of played America."

A Tribe Called Quest will play their first UK show in 20 years at this year "s Wireless Festival. They will perform alongside Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, who will both headline individual dates prior to the joint show before coming together for a special preview of their US tour, titled Legends of the Summer, on Sunday July 14. The London bash, which for the first time this year will take place in London "s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, as opposed to its previous home in Hyde Park, will also see appearances from A$AP Rocky and Nas.
