Long time EPMD DJ/producer DJ Scratch tops the field on Smirnoff "s reality show

DJ Scratch beat out DJ Revolution, Jazzy Joyce, Rich Medina, DJ Mars, DJ Rap and Vikter Duplaix to win Smirnoff "s Master of The Mix contest. The Just Blaze hosted contest came down to Scratch and Duplaix and the long time EPMD DJ/producer walked away with the $250,000 prize.

Scratch, who won the New Music Seminar Battle for World Supremacy DJ Championship in 1988, told SOHH he "d be reinvesting the winnings.

"I "m gonna go record shopping and I "m going to take a road trip," Scratch said. "[I "m] an avid record collector. So I "m going record shopping and then everything else is going into the bank. [laughs] I can "t give out the artists [I "m looking for] because they "re rare. If you "re in the record collector community, you don "t tell those titles because we play these records and I might have a 45 that "s worth two, three grand but I "ll actually play it. I "ll still play the vinyl."

DJ Scratch has produced for artists such as Busta Rhymes, Das EFX, Pharoahe Monch, Onyx, Method Man & Redman, 50 Cent, Guru, The Roots, Tha Alkaholiks, LL Cool J, Beanie Sigel, DMX, Talib Kweli and many more.
