DJ Charlie Chase, one of the founding members of the Legendary Cold Crush Brothers, has announced that he is leaving the group via his Facebook page.

"I’m writing this as an official notice to all of our fans that as of today this will be my last day as a Cold Crush Brother. I will no longer be the Dj for the group. This was not an easy decision for me. As I write this I have a huge pain in my heart and a lump in my throat. But it’s something that needs to be done. I’ve come to a crossroad in my life and now I have to follow the path that’s been put before me. I’m not quitting as a Dj, I’m just not going to play for the Cold Crush anymore.. I have nothing but love for my brothers and I sincerely wish them all the best."

Charlie Chase explains to RareHipHop.com:

"Being in a group for 34 years is the equivalent of being in a marriage. you learn from your family members and grow together. you give all you can to the family and marriage. But when you reach a certain age it "s time for the kids to leave the nest to grow. I just couldn "t grow anymore with my family. it was just time... "

The Cold Crush Brothers have inspired many influential artists, including Jay Z, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, DMC, etc. The Cold Crush still perform all over the world but unfortunately it will be without the great Charlie Chase.
