Eminem,
Nicki Minaj, Cee-Lo, Rihanna and others help raise a sizable amount for Japan
relief.
Songs For Japan, a compilation album, has sold over 500,000 copies, generating
approximately $5 million in revenue to benefit the victims of the tsunami and
earthquake that devastated Japan in March.
A press release indicates that the $5 million was given to The Japanese Red
Cross Society.
The artists involved in the project, including Eminem, Cee-Lo, Rihanna, Nicki
Minaj, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Guetta, The Black Eyed Peas, Elton John
and many more, waived their royalties and proceeds for the project.
Among the songs included on the project were "Love the Way You Lie"
by Eminem and Rihanna, "It "s OK" by Cee-Lo, "Save Me" by
Nicki Minaj, and "By Your Side" by Sade.
