The Black Entertainment channel, which viewed the “Hold
Me Back” video in its entirety, is adamant on keeping the raw and intense
footage of Ross’ latest visual production off their network.
“Hold Me Back” director TAJ_TKP took to his personal Twitter account
to report - and rip - the unfortunate decision.
“So BET rejected Ross’ “Hold Me Back” video. It’s
incredibly said, because the video is incredibly special & real. You’re
killing US BET. Smh. Everybody ask BET why it’s ok for them to play “Boyz
N The Hood”, “Menace To Society”, and “South Central”,
but not Ross’ video. What does BET stand for? You should have two answers
for that question."
TAJ later tweeted BET President Stephen Hill, urging the executive to reverse
the network "s decision:
"Please tell BET to play Rick Ross " "Hold Me Back" Video. It "s
a work of art and it "s as REAL as it gets. Support it "s honesty."
TAJ’s Twitter timeline leading up to his BET rant showcased nothing but
excitement for the MMG product - consistently mentioning Rozay and all the hard
work invested in the project - so we could only imagine his disappointment.
BET has yet to detail why they banned the video, but the network is serious
about their choice.
